What is Drupal Global Contribution Weekend?

This is an event organized worldwide, where the Drupal Community meets and collaborates with each other to contribute to the CMS. It is a great opportunity to meet other people who are part of the Drupal Community, share ideas and improve the CMS together. We must not forget that Drupal is an Open Source technology, and therefore it is sustained thanks to the great community behind it contributing its grain of sand.

How does it work?

No matter what role or function you play, the important thing is to contribute, and there are many ways! You can contribute, for example, with:

• Translations.
• Reorganize and/or improve Drupal documentation.
• Cleanliness/good practices in code.
• Issue resolution.
• Promotion and ideas to make Drupal known.
• Presentation on a particular topic.
• Anything else you can think of.

Where and when is it celebrated?

Drupal Global Contribution Weekend is celebrated on a global scale, all over the world. Each location can host and organize its own event to bring the Drupal Community together and contribute together.

The event begins on Saturday, January 27 and ends on the 28th of the same month. The times may vary depending on the geographical location, but they are normally held from early in the morning on Saturday the 27th until the afternoon of the same day. How can I attend?

To attend the Drupal Global Contribution Weekend you must follow the registration steps depending on your location. You can see here the list of locations worldwide where the event will be held. There you can get more details on how to register, as well as where it will be held.

There are no events at my location. What I do?

If the event is not held in person in or near your geographical location, nothing happens! You have two options:

• Organize the event yourself and call on the Drupal Community to collaborate. You can find more information on how to do it here.
• Attend the meetup virtually. Take a look here at the virtual meetups organized and join to collaborate remotely.
